There are varying things that attracts women to men but not very many men know that the kind of food they eat may make more persons of the opposite gender want them.
As it turns out, nature is the best cologne. A recent study found that women preferred the body odour of men who ate plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Furthermore, the study also found out that men who preferred a diet full of refined carbohydrates such as bread and pasta tens to have a less appealing which the opposite sex loves.
You may have heard mothers tell their kids to eat more fruits and veggies, and them doing so is surely not a way to convince them as it turns out that their words are science-backed.
According to scientists, the sweat secreted by human bodies could actually be an evolutionary signal of the present state of health and may determine the kind of people we attract when it comes to sexual partners.
For a while, scientists have known that odour is an important component of attractiveness, especially for women and a number of studies have buttressed this belief.
For one of such studies, researchers first evaluated male participants’ diet and eating habits by assessing their skin colour and their answers to food questionnaires.
The men were then given clean t-shirts and asked to exercise long enough till they break out in a sweat.
Afterward, the study’s female participants were asked to sniff the sweat and rate it using descriptors like how floral or fruity each scent was.
The conclusion of the study was that women basically found that men who ate more vegetables smelled nicer. But what is the scientific explanation for this?
It is quite simple actually. When you perspire, your sweat glands release compounds that are then broken down by the bacteria on your skin which then results in your characteristic body odour.
However, your sweat isn’t immediately smelly; since it takes the bacteria to release that scent. According to the researchers, the healthier the bacteria, the nicer the smell.
As it appears, beauty seems to be in the nose of the person that smells it—literally speaking. So if you’re looking for a mate, you might want to pay attention to the kind of food you are eating.
